The Golden Ticket aka medical release fianally

Yesterday Sara had her last appt w/ the orthopedic surgeon and we walked out with the golden ticket--the medical release. So, after 10 wks in splinting, major surgery, horrible scar, 2 months of PT, along with "the claw", she is now cleared to play soccer again. Am I nervous....you bet. I think I will make sure we take a splint in her bag in case she falls wrong on it. I will look for a soft splint to wear during the game. The Soccer director suggested one made for skateboarding, like her daughter had to do.

So, 10 minutes after the soccer office opened, Sara was signed up for a team. The first practice is today and at least one girl from her last team is on it.

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's day to everyone. Remember today is a day about showing care for others, not just your family, but also your friends, and those who you interact with. Wouldn't the world be a better place if everyone just said hello to each other, and maybe a thankyou.....I think this is called manners.

SO-Hug your family and hold them close, then go out and spread the love to others.

My mom turns 80

Today my wonderful mother turns 80 years young. She is such a great and fun person and very young for her age. She still works part time, love her birds in the yard, watching the squirrels competing w/ her bird feeders. She has a huge and beautiful garden. She is a cook to be envious of, and will work a puzzle into the wee hours. She loves to play card games, and dominoes. She is funny and fun. She is also an amazing grandmother to 13.

Happy birthday my wonderful mother!

Mom's turn to be sick

I have gotten bronchitis. I have had 4 X-rays by 2 drs, both convinced it was pneumonia. I have had breathing treatments, a huge shot in my butt, breathing tests. I feel terrible. The wheezing is keeping me up, along with the violent coughing stuff up and not able to get my breath.....well, just yucky.

One thing did scare me when the dr said my oxygen saturation # was 91 and at 90 is respiratory distress. Yes, I am now in distress....don't tell me this.

I plan on getting better soon I hope. After all, I am a mom and I still have 2 daily carpools to do, laundry is still going, the kids seem to like to eat DAILY-what's up with that?
